Speaker Information:

Rev. Chad Hoover
Presentation Description:
By God’s design you have been created either male or female. Additionally, God has given us the gift of marriage and children. What are the God-given distinctions between male and female? Do the roles God assigns to each bear significance in our daily lives? Even though the world challenges and rejects the biblical teaching in these areas, it is important for us to understand what God says about these important issues and to live our lives according to the truths He has revealed to us.

 Speaker Bio:
The Rev. Chad Hoover holds a B.A in education from Concordia University Chicago, and an M.Div. from Concordia Theological Seminary.  In 2014, he was called to Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana after serving as a parish pastor in northern Michigan for ten years.  In addition to his call at CLHS Pastor Hoover serves as Pastoral Assistant at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven, Indiana, frequently contributes content to the youth ministry organization Higher Things, a Recognized Service Organization of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, and has authored Lutheran Spirituality: Vocation, one of seven adult Bible studies in the Lutheran Spirituality series through Concordia Publishing House
Rev. Jeff Leininger
Speaker Description:
What is God calling me to do? What is the one thing I was placed on this planet for? How can I discover it?  What if I miss it? These questions often plague young people the most. The truth is, however, there is not one thing that you're meant to do. We have multiple callings, and they are unfolding right now. Pastor Leininger will walk us through Martin Luther’s teaching on vocation, and apply it to life issues for the young Christian.

Speaker Bio:
Pastor Leininger served twenty-one years of in campus ministry at Concordia University Chicago, where his greatest joy was working with young people, helping shape them for ministry and service. He currently serves First Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church. A historic congregation on Chicago’s North Side, and loves being back in full-time parish ministry. His recent book, Callings for Life: God’s Plan, Your Purpose, applies Martin Luther’s theology of vocation to the day-to-day life of a Christian. He has an MPhil and PhD in Ecclesiastical history from the University of Cambridge.
